Pay the Family
Caring for your parents is work. And in many states, you can be paid for it.
There are Medicaid programs across the US that pay family members to care for aging parents. Family members who provide care — daughters, sons, sisters, brothers, spouses — all may qualify. Up to $1,500 per month in some states.
How it works
- 01Your parent must be Medicaid-eligible (or near the income threshold in some states).
- 02You enroll as an official caregiver through your state's program.
- 03You receive hourly pay — typically between $10 and $25 depending on the state.
- 04It is reportable income. Counts toward Social Security, Medicare, and future benefits.
